Faculty Fridays is going daily! For three years and more than 100 posts, Faculty Fridays has been a tool to nurture and celebrate good teaching at RRC.
What does “good teaching" mean? It has never meant “excellence". And, it has been never meant “just good enough". We believe that “good teaching" is teaching for learning.
As educators, that's our goal. And these days, with our evolving reality in the face of the coronavirus, teaching for learning looks quite different.
As we all move to alternative ways of delivering our teaching, Faculty Fridays will be posting each day to strengthen our community of practice and to support each other as we help our students meet their learning needs by the end of term.
A link to Faculty Fridays: Daily Edition will appear each morning in Staff News. Each day, we'll profile instructors and the techniques they are using to teach for learning using alternative delivery. Together, we'll do our best to answer questions, connect each other to resources, and leverage our community of practice for support. We'll crowdsource answers to questions you send us, and we'll explore this brave new world of online and distance teaching for learning.
We'll also include links to RRC's other supports and COVID-19 response.
Remember everyone, this is new for us all. Under the circumstances, our teaching may not be perfect, but, together, we can keep our focus on doing our best for our students. And that is teaching for learning.
