Matt Miles, BA, PBDDET, M.Ed.

I am the Digital Learning Supervisor in the Teaching Learning Technology Centre. I’ve worked at Red River College since 2002, starting in the Distance Education department and moving to the Teaching Learning Technology Centre in 2006. I have administered the College’s Learning Management Systems since I started, along with supporting course development and other educational technologies. I completed my M.Ed. in 2015 with a focus on Distance Education technology. I’m involved in many projects and committees across the College, including two subcommittees of the Information Systems Steering Committee and the Early Alert project in the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management initiative.

Chris Bryan

Chris Bryan has been with the TLTC since October of 2007; first joining the team as an “Educational Technologist” and then transitioning to the roll of “Faculty Trainer of Learning Technologies”. Chris completed his CAE in 2015, and previous to that was a graduate of the DMD (then DMT) program here at RRC. As part of the Tech Team in the TLTC Chris assists with front line support, administration of a variety of systems, as well as his primary duty of developing and delivering training materials for all TLTC supported learning technologies.

Cassidy Dzama

Cassidy Dzama attended Red River College and completed his Diploma in Business Information Technology – Application Development (2014). During his studies he worked part-time with the TLTC developing Web based content and various research projects including developing a 3D Fire simulator for Fire Safety Awareness (2012). After graduating Cass started working full-time for the TLTC which included Developing and Maintaining Applications, Supporting Educational Technologies, Supporting our LMS and administration of a variety of our systems.

Claudius Soodeen, MA, PBDID, BA

I have been an instructional designer in the Teaching Learning Technologies Centre since 2010 and am a life-long learner and distance learning professional in the Manitoba post-secondary sector with 25 years’ experience in media and educational technology and training. I have had the privilege to work with instructors and programs across the College and look forward to continuing to help enhance teaching, learning and student success.

Kristen Cameron

Kristen (née Kristen Gatehouse, and formerly Kristen Long) grew up in Perth, Ontario, and studied at the University of Ottawa. In Ottawa, she taught English for Academic Purposes and English for Specific Purposes, and trained teachers how to teach English as a Second Language. Kristen also taught abroad in Mexico and South Korea. Since relocating to Manitoba to work for Red River College, Kristen has acted as a Distance Education Program Officer, travelled to Chile to facilitate CAE courses in Spanish, taught CAE courses online, and performed instructional design across a variety of disciplines. Kristen presented at the 2008 CNIE Conference in Banff on ‘Triaging Online Course Development’ and has completed CVA DACUM I training. In her free time, Kristen hopes to make a return to running (she has completed several marathons and qualified for Boston), complete her first fiction novel, and spend time with the most inspirational person in her life: her young son, Max.

Jo-Anne Spencer

I am currently the Senior Instructional Designer in the Teaching Learning Technologies Centre. I joined the RRC fulltime in 2010. I joined RRC fulltime in 2010. I have previously taught Continuing Education classes for RRC for several years in Photoshop and video editing. My background includes a Master of Education degree (Instructional Design and Technology, University of North Dakota), Bachelor of Education degree (Secondary Education, Brandon University), Certificate in Website Development (RRC) and a Certificate in Adult Education (RRC). I have been involved in education in a variety of capacities from high school teacher in rural Manitoba, corporate trainer, instructional designer and adult educator over the past decades. My experience as an Instructional Designer has been in a variety of areas in both the public and private sectors where my focus has been on adult education for online and classroom delivery. In my free time, I continue with my passion for lifelong learning (in a variety of topics), curling and photography.

Kevan Gābler, RSE

Kevan Gābler is an Education Assistant with the TLTC working with Construction Trades. He has a diploma in Advertising Art / Graphic Design and graduated with honors from Robertson College with a Multimedia Computer Applications Specialist certificate. Kevan has also completed the Bricklayer program at Red River College, winning the Highest Achieving Apprentice award from Apprenticeship Manitoba, and is a Red Seal Journeyman. Kevan has developed a wide range of skills from his experience working in the fashion industry, construction and multimedia. In his professional career he has had the opportunity to travel the world to shoot photos and video, produce documentaries, design billboards in Times Square New York, and much more. Kevan looks forward to using his skills and knowledge to the benefit of Construction Trades at RRC.

Lori Ann Abbott

Lori Abbott has been with the TLTC since Sept 2016 and is responsible for the administrative support in the Learning Technology Office. She has extensive experience working within a team, having held positions in the financial, education, and service fields. Lori graduated from Northwestern (IA) with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. In addition to her duties here at RRC, Lori is an active volunteer within the community helping the less fortunate and seniors, as well has been a volunteer for Caregivers with Confidence for the past 10 years. In her free time, you will find Lori spending time with her husband Michael, trying to keep up with one of her 4 kids, or watching her favorite NFL game.

Melissa Goulbourne

For the past ten years, Melissa Goulbourne has worked as an Instructional Designer, splitting her time between industry and academia. She began her career as a Trainer for a local financial planning software company before eventually finding a home with the TLTC, where she has been employed since July 2012. In addition to holding a BA in English and International Development Studies from Dalhousie University, Melissa has successfully completed a Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) from the University of Manitoba and is currently working on the final chapters of her graduate thesis in fulfillment of the requirements for a master’s degree in education. Melissa is deeply committed to adult education, and strives to inspire and motivate instructors and other staff to pursue their own avenues of personal and professional growth throughout their careers at RRC.
