Last modified at 8/19/2014 11:19 AM by Mark Nelson

Course Overview

This course is designed to assist learners in preparing assessment devices for determining entry, developing, and final achievement levels. Testing and Evaluation considers assessment in regard to appropriate purposes, teaching targets, methods and quality indicators - with as wide a variety as possible.

The focus is on teacher-made tests in terms of observation, selection and supply, performance, and direct personal communication items. These are intended to assess knowledge, reasoning, skills, products, and dispositions or habits of mind.

Assessment methods stressed include written tests, observation, peer-reports, self-reports, portfolio documentation, and performance /product tests. This helps with planning the instruments, administering them, scoring, and interpreting the results, and providing feedback that promotes ongoing, improved objective, personalized instructional decision-making and learning.
